Q:  What is the difference between home staging, redesign, interior decorating and interior design?

A:  Although many of these terms are frequently interchanged, we think of home staging as a technique used to increase buyer notice when selling a home.  By decluttering and repositioning furnishings and accessories to provide a traffic flow that draws buyers in and appeals to the widest range of buyers possible, homes can sell faster and for more money.  You don't stage rooms necessarily the way you would live in them.  Redesign is similar to staging, in that we often use your own furnishings along with additional accessories and rearrange them in a way that brings new life to your existing living space. Interior decorating is often used in combination with staging services.  Interior design and interior designer are terms that primarily are used by those who have received a four year college degree in design.  Their services are generally much more expensive and rarely involve reuse.

Q:  How do you work with a vacant or brand new home that has no furniture to rearrange?

A:  Happy is the After works side by side with local furniture rental companies to complete the look you are wanting to accomplish.

Q:  I am moving from my home of 40 years, downsizing into a condominium. I'm worried that my furniture won't fit and am having a hard time figuring out where to put things.  Is this something you can help with?

A:  Absolutely. We can work with you to create the kind of space that works for you.

Q:  What services do you perform for people selling their own homes? We're thinking of selling "by owner" but may need a little help. Do you offer any discounts for DIYers like us?

A:  We are happy to work with private home sellers and builders as well as real estate agents. You may find that our Verbal Consultation  service will work well for you as we supply the instructions and you do the work. We can provide referrals to many area experts to help you prepare your home for the market.
